The amount represents 85 per cent, of the profit made by the Government in purchasing bags for the wheat harvesting. ROOFING IRON AND .WIRE CHEAPER. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 29. The local market is reported to he well supplied with corrugated iron and prices show a downward tendency. The present price is in the vicinity of £55 per ton —a drop of nearly 50 per cent, within seven or eight months. The wire market is rather uncertain, but the fall in price is stated to be more marked than that in corrugated iron.
