... WELLINGTON, May 29. Shaking at the annuajl meeting of the Wellington Chamber of, Commerce Hon'. A. M. Myers referred, to the increased: financial burden that would have to be borne by the people of the Dominion in consequence of the war, and saiu it was plain that there must be ' increased production. Tho country - must•■• not overlook the fact that tho apparent increase in exports during recent years had been duo chiefly to high prices. When prices began to fall again the country would bo in a difficult position unless production had been increased in the meantime.
Ho was '-ntirely in accord with the policy of securing expert advice for the Government in business matters'. He had proved tho great value of export advice in his work as Minister of Munitions and Supplies. Business men who had advised him had saved the country hundreds of thousands of prounds. No Minister could know tnough to handle all tbe_ intricate problems that came before him without fclio advice of experts to guide him.
