WAGES IN RAND MINES. CAPETOWN, June 12Giving evidence at the Rand strike inquiry the President of the Chamber of Mines, said the gold industry had reached the limit in what could be done In regard to wages and working cost. If further burdens were imposed on the industry the prosperity of the Rand would be destroyed, and iha prosperity of South Africa" jeopardised.
