News lias been received in Winchester that Private S. McOellaad was killed on Slay 30th. He went with the ord Reinforcements, and Lad been wounded three times. He was born at Rangitata, but lived most of his life at Winchester, where he was educated. He was a cadet in the post office at Geraldine when he resigned to enlist with a brother who is still at the front. At the time of his death he was just twenty years of age. Ho was a bright, cheery lad, and liked by all who knew bim. Before the war be had shown distinct promise as a cyclist.
