Tinder the headincs '""Unspoiled Girls—Dominion soldiers' choioo of farm workers," the "Daily Mail" of November 20 publishes the following paragraph: —"Do we like marrying our boys to English girls?" said an overseas Army chaplain yesterday, repeating the question of a representative of "The Daily Mail." "Why, we are doing ib gladly every day. We find that the wives our men are choosing over here are the right sort to make good colonists after the war. It looks as though they preferred English country women, particularly those engaged on farms. The men say these girls are not so 'spoiled' by over-much attention as are many of the women over-seas, where their comparatively fewer numbers mak« them very much in demand at all social affairs. The English girls, too, have a splendid reputation for hard work among the Colonials, ana before the war there was little need' for a girl to remain a spinster once she crossed the ocean." A "Timaru digger" on active service clipped this out and sent it to the "Herald" with this remark: "It was read with groat inffcenest, but not by any means agreed to, by a large number of New Zealand soldiers." "Another Timaru Digger" added a not©: "It is oausinxr a lanse number of arguments in all the New Zealand camps in England. I myself think the New .Zealand girls win tho argument everytime."
