BURNSIDE. DUNEDIN, Oct. 3. At Burnside 168 fat cattle were penned. The quality was very good, and the demand keen. Prices advanced 15s. A fair number were purchased by northern butchers. Best bullocks sold at £2l 10s to £24, extra £27 12s 6d, medium £lB 10s to £l9 10s, light and unfinished £l6 to £l7 10s; best cows and heifers £l6 to £lB, medium £l3 10s to £ls, light £ll 10s to £l2 10s. Sheep.—2soo were penned. The quality was very good. At the commencement of the sale last week's prices were barely maintained, but as the sale progressed competition became keener at late values. Best wethers 46s to 4Ss, extra 55s 9d, medium to good 40s to 445, light 38s 6d to 425; prime'ewes 44s to 465, extra 50s 3d, medium 38s to 40s. , Lamhs.—2] were penned.
