A. Washer find Co. sell by auction to-day afc 2 p.m. alt Beaconsfield, on account of Mr J. Ratcliffe, household furniture and bakery plant, baker's cart and horse. The well know trotting horso "Bonification" will be submitted to auction at 2.30 p.m. To-morrow a!o 2 p.m. they bold an Easter sale of poultry at ithe Mart, and entries -are now being received. In itheir sain rooms to-morrow (Wednesday) at 1.80 on account of clients lcavinhg Timaru, Morton and Pearson will sell poultry, fruit, and a large quantity of household furniture, including upright grand piano (Ronish) oak sideboard, wood beds etc. Members of the Kensington Methodist Church are reminded of the social and presentation to Private P. Manger, t 0 held in the church to-morrow night. The ladies will provide refreshments.
A farewell social will be tendered to Privates Robinson, Annals, and Guilford, in the Pleasant Valley schoolroom on April 10. The Timarn, Belford, and New Zealand Companies announce thaffc their mills and offices will be closed from noon on Thursday till April 10. The Kia Toa Bowling Club invites entries for a tournament to be held on Good Friday and Easiter Monday, commencing each day at 9.45 a.m. A mass meeting; of all Trade and Labour Unions in Timaru, will be held in the Foresters' hall, George Street, tomorrow alt. 8 p.m., for the purpose of considering what action shall be taken ivith regard to labour candidates at the forthcoming municipal elections. Friends and supporter of Mr G.. B. Cartwright, as a candidate for the Temuka Mayoralty, are requested to meet in Evans and Co's office at 8 this, evening, to form an. election committee. Tho executive of the Temuka Second Division League meets in Guinness and LeCren's rooms at 8 to-morrow evening.
A number of Tenraka business peoole advertise that tW close on Good Friday and Tester Monday, but will* open on Saturday.
