Mr R. W. Simpson, who is acting as honorary financial organiser for the Military Affairs Committee, theboaVse up by the Anglican Church in New Zealand to take charge of its work amongst our troops in this countrv and at the front, reports that he has already received the sum of £I4OO. In a letter just to hand from the secretary of the above committee appears the following, which will be read with interest by Anglicans in this district :—"You will be pleased to hear that we have already sent £IOO Home to Archdeacon Jacob, and were sending another £IOO next week. lam also cabling to-day that, the-money, is on its way, so that'"t¥ey"can 'draw oh'it for their work in England and France. I had an excellent letter from Chaplain CruicksKnnk last week, in which he asks if there cannot be some fund set up m England from which the chaplains' could draw for their work. Hi's letter crossed ours conveying £IOO to Archdeacon Jacob, so we are evidently on the right track."
Mr Simpson leaves for. Nelson and the North Island at the end of the present month, and expects to finish his work bv the end of Julv: ho has "been successful m petting small committees set up in the districts visited to assist in raising the sum of £IO,OOO which the Military Affairs Committee considers necessary for its work.
