ANNUAL MEETING TO-NIGHT. • The (annual meeting of the Tim am Golf ,Club. will .be held in Hutchison's rooms at. 8 p.m. this evening. The annual report of the committee, which has been circulated among members and i will bo presented ' f oir adoption, states, that afloer meeting expenses and a!lowing ..,£SO for depreciation, tlie ( ne'fc result of the year's working was a profit of £5. 2s lOd. The property has been kept in good order, and the course in fair: playing condition considering the dryness of the season. The Ground are tlianked for the time and care devoted to their work. The arrangements at (the * golf house, "and the catering of "Mrs McNab have been very satisfactory. Nine new : members had been enrolled, and the number now was 129, 'as agains't 532 last year.. The roll is made up of 16 life members,, 8 honorary, 52 plowing, 1L country, and 36 members on active service. Theroll of' honour ihcjludes the names of , six members who ; have lost their, lives on active service. Mr K. G. Turner, a very old member of Ithe club had also. been lost by death. Thres foreign matches had been played against Fairlie, honours even, and a >vin against s Oamaru. A South Canterbury, Championship was held in June; 50 -players competed,, and P. C. Wrightc won' the champdonship medal. The various club competitions, considering the small number of players available, were keenly contested. In November, by a "golf aifternoon" and cake sale, £25 4s was raised for the Timaru Queen Carnival fund, the ladies' club paying all Ithe expenses of tlie meeting. The thanks'' of the club, are recorded to \the ladies for generous donations and other , help, to the House Committee, to the Handicap Committee, and Ito the President and Vice-President for trophies. The balance sheet shows total receipts £494 3s 3d (subscriptions £213 7s 3d. arid' ladies' club subscriptions £B6 ' 13s1, and expenditure (including £SO for depreciation) £5 2s lOd less than the receipts. The principal items were interest £197 9s 6d, and waces i £l4l lis 6d.
