TIMARU COMMITTEE. A meeting of p the committee of the Timaru of' -the- British Red. Cross Society was ' held on Friday. Present: —Mr F. A. Raymond (in the chair) Messrs Edgar.-Jones, Hindmarsh, Priest, lnnes-Jones, . Cray, Revell, Wade, East, Andrews, Maling and W. H. Price (Hon. Secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Hunter-Weston, Hughson, Fisher, B. Tripp, Guinness and Pearson. A letter was read from Col. Parkes, London, to Mr Bernard Tripp recomri'.ending fthe following articles: —Pyjamas, underflannels, underpants, sbirts with khaki collars, shirts woollen without collars, socks, mufflers, slippers v with leather 6oles, - woollen waistcoats, warm gloves or ?nittens, walking sticks (strong) rubber crutch and stick protectors, playing v cards or games of an,y kind; hot waiter bags.— It was decided that a copy of the letter and enclosure ho sent Itio the Ladies' Committees at Timarus,'. Waimate and Geraldine, and that the list be also published. " A Idtter from Temuka Branch enclosed cheque for £4OO to: be remitted to London. Tlie Christchurch Centre wrote acknowledging receipt'of cheque for £IOOO, which had been remifjted to Col. Moorhouse. Tlie Ladies' Committee, Timaru, asked for more labels. —Mr Priest to attend to the master. It was; resolved that the Trustees remit at once £4OOO !do London.
, After discussion it was decided to ask Col. Mborhouse to cable to London through the Governor for an estimate of the. amount of money required from Now Zealand during the next twelve months, so tlia't it can he apportioned amongst the various centres.
Accounts amounting to 19is Id. were passed for payment.
