Miss Bond, Christehurch, is the guest of Mrs; W. J. Bond, Claremont. Corporal' John Rolleston has gone to Dunedin. Dr. Eleanor Balter fins returned to Chriistchiirch, after spending ten days at Sefton House:

Mr E. R. Guinness came back-from Du-tiedin on Wednesday. The engagement is announced of Miss Ethel Manchester, of Waimate, to Mr Clarence Wright, Timaru. Miss Taylor, Geraldine, who was the guest of Mrs Knowles, senr., Wai-iti Road, last week, motored home on Saturday. ..* Miss Clifford, LeCren Street, is the guest of Mrs Graham Hayter, Albury. Mr and Mrs King Temple, ,Hawkes Bay, are staying with Captain and Mrs Temple, Wai-iti Road. Mrs Huddlestone and her children, Avenue Road, are spending a fortnight in the country. Mrs R. T. Bruce is at Rolleshy.

Mrs MacKenzie Smith, 'LeCren's Street, has returned from N Ohristch'urch.' Mrs Val. Hitchings came back "on Tuesday from Palmerston North.

Miss Ogston has returned .from -Mt." Cook, and has been the guest during the week of Mrs Timaru Rhodes ana Mrs Westmacott. She leaves to-day for Dunedin.

Mrs Hope and Mrs Ormsby went to Orari Gorge, yesterday for' a week. Mr and Mrs Bernard Tripp, . Orielton, and their guest, Mrs Hugh Reeves (Christchurch) went to Dunedin yesterday. Miss Ever-Suindell, who twas the. guest of Miss Day, Nelson Terrace, motored back to Ashburton on Sunday with Dr and Mrs Lyon. Miss Martin is the guest of Mrs Westmacott."

The Theatre Royal was packed to the doors last Friday night for St. .Patrick's Concert, and a delightful, programme was presented to a most appreciative audience. Mrs Mangos, who as usual playpd all the .accompaniments to' perfection, wore a soft green oharmouse with black jewelled overdress, and pink swathe belt. Some of those present were Mr and Mrs W.
