Tho railway employees hero resolved "That this branch considers the time lias arrived for a serious attempt to be made to consolidate labour and recommends the executive to discuss the desirability of inviting all sections of transport workers to federate en political lines, with the expressed object of elec-ting a. Labour Government at next flection. We-do not proposed to federate on industrial lines. The p'atform of those who want to organise nv this way we cannot recommend tr> cur fellow workers. Wo do not believe in direct action, as everything we want is obtainable in a reasonable and legitimate manner. Should the executive approve of tho suggestion, we desire that they .should take immediate steps to obtain the feeling of -branches, and ascertain what further action is necessary."
