LAND SALE.
AT WAIMATE. 'Jiie Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tiv.o Association offered for sale, oil account of Mr J. Bitcliener, 25 lots of suburban land varying i : rom 1 acu-o to 4.1- acres in area and situated between High, King, and AKen Streets, and between Mill Iload and the Waimate creek. Tlio terms of sale were:—lo per cent, on fall of hummer, 20 per cent, oil date of possession, 10 per cent, on Ist September, 1917, 10 per cent, on Ist September, 1918. The balance can remain until Ist September, 1921. The land is all cultivated bush land, handily situated to tho town, being only fifteen minutes walk from the post office. There was a large attendance at tlid sale which was held in the C.F.O.A. machinery room. Tho bidding was somewhat slow and some sections were passed In, but tho firm expects to dispose of these immediately by private treaty. Taken on the whole, and considering the times, the sale was a fairly good one. The following sales were effected: — Lot 1, 1a.?., £lO5, Mr A. C. Middleton for a client; Lots 2 uid 3, 1 ac. each, £SO cadi, S. J. Hitchins: Lot 17, about 1| ac., £125, and Lot 20, do. £lls, Miles McDonald. Lot 19, about 1} ac., £135, Sergeant Eccles. Lots Dench, £llO each. Lot 25, £285, B. Betten. For sections withdrawn, from £65 to £llO was offered.
