CLANDEBOYE
RED CROSS- GUILD. ' A concert and dance was held in the Clandeboye Public Hall on Friday evening in aid of the Clandeboye Red Gross Guild. Mr Pemberton presided over a fair attendance. Songs were rendered by Misses Comer, G. Blaithwayte, E. Blaithwa^te; recitation, Miss Levens, songs by Mr T. Tilbrbok and J W. Salmon; club swinging, Mr M. Cameron. Mr Salmon acted as accompanist. During the evening speeches were delivered by Mr T. Gnnnion, Mr Tilbiook, Mr Salmon and Dr. Rugg. Mr Pemberton (chairman), read a report of the Clandeboye Gui'd as follows : Tlie first meeting of the Ladies' Sowing Guild was held May 29th, 1915. To the end of December, 1915, nineteen meetings were held, with an average attendance of fifteen. Altogether 122 garments, 286 bandages, and 120 swabs have been made, in addition to fomentation, operation, medicine and tray cloths etc. Also two Belgian parcels have bgen forwarded with the above to the Temuka Gui'M. From January 1 to September there has been twenty meetings, with an average attendance of ten, malting 110 garments, 2645 swabs, 739 bandages', besides socks, balaclavas etc. There was also a,n amount of work done by the school children, which was paid from the Guild's funds. To the end of March the bn'anre of about £35 was spent in material. To the end ' of March funds amounting to £49 17s had also been received from," various sources. The Guild wish to thank the cheese factory and all snbscrilw.rs for the generous way they have subscribed to their fund, thus enabling them to carry en the good work to the. best advantage. The music for the dance was supplied by Mr Brown and Davis, Mr Swanev acting as M.C.
