RUSSIAN ATTACKS. ENEMY RETREATS. PETROGRAD, Nov, 13. Russians assaulted fortified positions of the Turks near the Szok Pass on the night of the 11th. The enemy retreated. advangtTon"erzerum. PETROGRAD, Nov. 14. The Russians are advancing on Brzerum on three sides. The road is practically open to within a few miles, when they will be' confronted by the formidable Devebomn heights, which were a scene of 6eveie fighting in 1877. The Turks have reinforced Erzerum from Trebizond. The Russians inflicted great losses on the Turks at -Alogrikes. A flank attack on the Russian left was caught by a punishing crossfire from mountain artillery, and broken up by infantry charges. Caucasans are now pursuing the Turks in the mountains. NO SYMPATHY FROM EGYPT. Received 12-5 a.m., Nov. 16th. CAIRO, Nov. 14. Leading Moslem and religious authorities have issued a proclamation urging Egyptians to maintain a peaceful attitude and shun intrigues. The chief religious Sheiks in the Soudan spontaneously expressed loyalty to the Government, pay tribute to the beneficient British rule, and dissociate themselves from Turkey's actions/ which have alienated the .sympat&ies of the Mahommedan world. -- »
