STOCK SALE.
TEMUKA. The Temuka stock sale was held yesterday. There was only-a moderate atendance and t>]io entries were small compared w-vh lato sales. The total yaraing of sheep was IS7O. made up as follows: —Fat ewes 596, fat wethers 347, fat iambs iiol, stores 576. The average quality of the fat sheep and lambs was rather poor, and the sale dragged right through. Ewes were particularly hard to dispose of. and a number of small lines cnanged hands at 'from 9s 3d :o 12s "6d. These were pid ewes, guaranteed empty. Of tin; total entry of fat ewes 87 were- passed, and the highest pr.ee given was for a line of 61./ which sold at 18s 7d. 1 lieentry of wethers was good for the Temuka yards at this season of the year, but the supply exceeded the demand and of 347 yarded 176 were passed. Prices ranged from 19s 7d to 24s 3d. There was a. small entry of fat Jambs and a complete clearance was made, n.t prices ranging 'from 14s 8d to 18s 7d. Then* was a good entry c"r cattle. For well finished favs high prices wore obtained but- the bulk of those yarded left something to be desired in this respect The pig pens we're atjain well filled, hut there was a good demand and yr.'c-es were wei'i maintained. Tlu> following sa-ies were made: — Fat ewes —37 at 13s 7d. 36 at 16s lOd, 7 at ISs 2d, 2G at 18s, 20 at 18s. 20 at 18s. 30 at 12s 6d, 70 at 16s Id, 90 at 12s sd. 37 at 16s 4d. 60 at ISs 7d, 17 at 9s 9d, 26 at 10s lid. 19 at 10s od. 14 at 9s 3d, 20 at 12s lid. Fat wethers—42 at 20s. 12 at 24s 3d. 19 at' j9s 7d. 40 nt 24s lid, 47 at 235. 22 a- 225 ; 9 at 20s. Fat lambs—l 3-3 at loss 9d, 22 at 18s 7d, 17 at 17s lOd, 152 at 16s. 54 at 16s Bd. 40 at los 6d, 16 at 17s lOd. 10 at 17s 4d. 13 at 18s. 7 at 16s, 30 at 14s Sd, 55 at los 6d.
