Many Parisians were disappointed at not being allotted seats at the Caillaux trial- The Court was crammed, and intense interest was displayed. Madame Caillaux is personally conducting her defence. A GIPSIES' FEUD. As a result of a feud between gipsies iii Auvergne a pitched battle with guns, revolvers, knives and hatchets took place, and there were many casualties. Three companies of gendarmes dispersed the combatants.

A woman shadowed a monk named Rasputin for a fortnight, and fatally stabbed him in the village of Pokroosky, Tobolsk. Rasputin was an illiterate Siberian peasant who gained great influence with the Czar as a miracle worker and rose to power in Court circles. Ho became an agent for various political cliques and exercised influence in the Bcllis case. A monk named Hiodor was imprisoned for thrashing and denouncing Rasputin as a false prophet.
