Tlic heat wave i.s spreading over New York, the State of Mhsonri and the middle west, generally. Hundreds of people are sleeping on' the; Coney Island heaches. Ten were drowned during Sunday's bathing. Two young children got out of their depth in. Prospect Park, Brooklyn, and were drowned in full view of several thousand bystanders, who did not offer assistance.
