Tlie bomb was <i canister nine inches high. It_«contained gunpowder and 'metal filings, and was timed to explode in .on hour. A .militant suffragette, Annie Bell, was arrested. She had been closely watched during the pa-st few Sundays, after being released under the Cat and Mouse Act. Shetold the Court that she intended to blow up the church. Suffragettes burned the railway station at Blaby. A postbag exploded in a. BlackpoolManchester train and ignited six bags, and a portion of the' van was burned. The guard was badly burned in extinguishing the fire. The outrage is attributed to suffragettes.
