SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
PLEASANT POINT. At the monthly meeting of the committee of the Pleasant Point District High School, there were present—Messrs Lawrenson (chairman), Oborn, Dossett, Miller, Halstead, and the Rev. G. Bang. The chairman reported having visited the school and found everything in a very satisfactory condition. He was particularly pleased to learn that in the High School the attendance had increased to such an extent that the seating accommodation wais now insufficient.' He recommended a rearrangement of the desks so that another row might be placed in the room. The matter of the annual excursion, was brought forward by Mr Dossett, and it was decided to arrange for an excursion to Caroline Bay on the 27th inst, local tradespeople to be invited to join in the outing. Mr Lawrenson referred to Taraous improvements now urgentljy required, and the committee found that additional funds would soon be necessary. It was thought that a euchre party and dance might suffice temporarily as a means of raising money, and this entertainment was fixed for the evening of Friday, 13ih> inst.
