SCOTTISH SOCIETY.
SHOW NIGHT CONCERT. A special meeting of the South Canterbury Scottish Society's Council was held on Thursday evening, when there was a full Council present. Mr A. M. Paterson, the Chief, presided over a very enthusiastic meeting. The principal business of the meeting was to make arrangements for the annual concert, to be held on October SO, which is the second night, of the Show. It was decided to hold the concert in the Choral Hall, if available, and the secretary was instructed to try and engage the hall for the purpose. It was unanimously agreed that members holding membership tickets be admitted to all the Society's concerts and functions during the current yearj including the grand Show night concert; non-members' -tickets to ba 2s each.
It was agreed that a dance be held after the concert, first class music to ba provided, admission to the dance to be, ladies free, gentlemen one shilling Arrangements are in hand for the coi.cert, and an excellent .and attractive programme is promised. Already fifteen pipers have offered their services to play, i'or the Society in the street on that u : ght, and every effort wEI be put foi-th to mnko this concert the best of its kind sinco the Society hr.3 been in existence.
