The* winners wertr Miss Philp and Mr Farrell, and the donors of prizes Messrs Lang-* ford and Opie. The ladies of tho district . supplied the suppei\ . Rain is falling steadily at the time of writing, and looks as if it were set in for a time. The farmers around are. all well ahead with. their work, so that' 24 hours, rain would .do' bo harm,' iu fdet it would do a considerable amount of g00d... The , "Winchester Miniature Rifl* Club tired off for Mr Harrison's trophy on Monday night, with the following result:—rOf 24 competitors 15 hid Cripps 'and J. Cliff, scored the- possible, 70. '' Two competitors, Messrs A. Cripps an dJ. Chffj scored the possible, • and in thef shoot off again tied with the possible. At the third shoot they tied once more with 69, and filially A. Cripps at the fourth try was winner with 68. The leading scores were:— A. Cripps (scr) 70.. J. Cliff (sor) 70, A. Opie (1) 69, J. Cripps (scr) 68, W. Scott (scr) 68, A. Giltum (1) 68. J. Farrell (3) 68, T. Kennedy (scr) 67. After the .euchre tournament at Winchester on Friday the gathering resolved it-self into a meeting to' consider the best way to celebrate the Coronation of George V. It was finally decided to have a children's gat-boring in Victoria Park on the afternoon of Friday, 28rd June, when an oak tree will he planted; to have a bonfire and fireworks display in the evening; and to close the day with a ( social." A strong committee consist ing of the members of the School Committee, the members of the Parle Board, and Messrs .T. McTnnes, C. Opie. Doolan, and R. Smith jun.. was set up to give effect to the resolution.
