Tho love story with tlie i:;ir and innocent Marguerite, tne jewel scone in the garden, and the exeeecl-inn-iy pathetic ending, wherein Marguerite expires in tile arms n of hc-r lover, aro well pourtrayed. ihis is a true production of "Faust." Anotiier very Sine picture is entitled Iho Match Seller," adapted from nans Andersen's well known stoi-y. An AnTy Sea" is one of the greatest aclnnvemonts in the art of cinematography. Tho effect of the waves dashing over tho breastworks is a great sio-lit. " Henry of Lusignae "is a splendid picture, a story of soventeoath century warfare. Patlie Gazette g'ves some startling snapshots, and the comic subjects will help one to go through life with a smiling faco. tho programmes for to-day are well worth seeing.
LAWRENCE CAMPBELL RECITAL. Tho very favourable impression created bv the Lawrence Campbell h.utal in the Theatre Royal on limrsnay night was no doubt responsible for tho fact that an even larger audience a.ssemblcd last night. ■ And it can be safely said again that no one went home disappointed. Mr Lawrence Campbell's ability as an elocutionist was verv marked in tho recital of va T rious selections. Needless to say ho received the highest compliments which the audience could bestow, and tho same applies to M. Eugene OssipofF, whoso singing delighted Ins hearers. Mrs Sbaw-Maver and Miss Rene Lees at the piano displayed much artistic ability.
