CRICKET.
SOUTH END V, TEMUKA. South End journeyed to Temuka to play their match against the home team, and won by 33 runs on the first innings—110 to 77. Clay 39, Macliin 24, and Duncan 16 were the best scorers for South End. Bradmore for Temuka played a very patient innings for 35 not out, and was the only batsman to shape with any confidence. Feilden 12 was the only other twofigure score, besides extras 10. Harbage 5 wickets for 34, and Bradnidro 2 for 11, were the best of Temuka's bowlers, and Moore, 6 for 18, was in first-class form with the ball. Temuka fielded cleanly and kept the runs down well. South End played their usual clean fielding game, although onco or twice they were not quick enough in gathering the ball. After the match Mr Bradmore was presented with a bat from his club, suitably inscribed, Mr Feilden making the presentation amidst applause. Mr Bradmore responded, thanking his fellow players.
