GERALD INE v. KIA ORA.

Yesterday afternoon five rinks from Geraldine journeyed to Timaru to do battle with tho Kja Toa Club, On three former occasions matches nave been arranged with Geraldine, but wet weather has prevented these coming off Yesterday afternoon, however, was a perfect bowlers' day and the visitors enjoyed themselves to tho full. The green was in excellent order,' although perhaps a trifle keen. Teams were evenly matched, and as the games weat on it became evident that there would bo a close finish At half-time Geraldine was leading by one point, and at the finish this was increased to five. Genii dine is to bo congratulated oil its win, as the club has only been ia existence for two years, and most of its players are'colts. Afternoon tea was kindly provided by Mrs John Holdgate, assisted Ly Sirs J. Radcliife. At the oonduskm of the game Mr Flatman thanked the Kia Toa players for the afternoon's enjoyment. He was proud of the win, as it meant a great deal to the young club. He called for three cheers for "Ki* Toa and one more for the ladies. Mr McCahon, President, returned +TnvnVg on behalf of Kia. Toa. He congratulated the Geraldine men on their excellent play and gentleman-
