Terence O'Hagan was charged witi usang Y\ iti is Street, on September H 3, for the purpose of betting, contrary to the City ily-l.uvs, And aiso with eommiting au act for the purpose of aiding William Hain, bookmaker, to oomuit ai! offence, namely making a bat in Willis Street. O'Hagan was called as principal witness in the recent prosecsition against Hain for illegal betting, hut owing io deafness, loss of memory and persistent assertions that ho reeolliscti'd nothing of what it wns alleged he had admitted in a written statement to the police, Itlio prosecution collapsed. Mr Wilford, who appeared for O'Hagan, said thst tlie accused was no?t aware of the questions he. had answerea until, he saw reports in the paper, and he wished now to acknowledge the oorrecteess of the detective's statement.
