A CRIPPEN RUSE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON ,oct, 26. According to a story given m a Blenheim paper, Kollen Shaw, reported to have been lost overboard from the s.s. Blenheim some two months ago. was not drowned at all. On Saturday Last D. Pilmer, a Blenheim resident, saw a young man enter a well-known public place in Wellington. After a short survey of the suspect, who wore a large hat, wig, and pincenez, Pilmer went up to and addressed him by his name. The man denied his identity, but Pilmer learnt that he had registered at the hotel as "Lewis." He managed, with the assistance of the landlord to obtain a close scrutiny of Rollcnshaw in his bedroom, and there obtained confirmation of his suspicions, notwithstanding his disguise. Rollonshaiv kept to his bedroom all Sunday until evening, when lie paid his score and left the hotel. Next day Pilmer again saw Rollenshnw in the city, and managed to get into touch w-itli him, l when Tlollenshaw admitted his idenI tity. He informed Pilmer that he got ' off the Blenheim as she touched the i river bank, made south across country I to Seddon. caught the coach there and I went on to Kaikoura. thence to ChristI church, and up to Wellington.
