MR PETER BOWLING. NEWCASTLE STRIKE LEADER. Piess Aseociation-By Telegraph-Copyright SYDNEY, Oct. 25. Acting on the recommendation of Mr Holman, Attorney-General, the Governor has ordered the immediate release of Peter Bowling who was imprisoned in connection with the Newcastle miners' strike. Mr Bowling's whole time was two and a half years. Mr Wade's Government remitted eighteen months of the sentence and the remaining twelve months would have terminated in February. On being interviewed Mr Bowling declared that he intended to take up the fight for industrial freedom at the point he left off nine months ago. There was a great demonstration when he was released.
