SUPREME COURT.
Per Press Association. PALMERSTON X., June 10. At the .Supreme Court to-day bfore Justice Cooper, the libel case of V. Al. Braund v. E. D. Hoben, -editor of the -Manawatu "Daily Times" was commenced. The chum is for £'sol, damages for alleged libel arising out- of a paragraph contained in a report on .Millar and Cicorgi's lire, which occurred at the time of the Paweika scare. The paragraph is as follows: — "Air Warner states that at Millar and Georgi's lire, an individual, claiming to bo an assessor, attempted to interfere with him in the carrying out of his duty." A similar act-ion is being brought against Air 'Warner, superintendent of the Fire Brigade. The ease for the prosecution is finished and the defence will be heard to-morrow.
