*o— TIIK LABOUR- I'AKTY. J'er Press Association. CHIUSTCHURCH, June 10. Members of the Labour Party in Ckristehureh seem to have given all their sympathy in the Aurkland contest to" Air Davis. They all speak of him in terms 01 very high praise, saying that in all respects he is a splendid type of man. am! is a credit to any cause into which he may bestow his energy. He is known as one of the staunchest- unionists in .N'eiv Zealand.
'•You might- lind his equal as a unionist in Now Zealand," Air Whiting, a prominent member of the party said to a reporter, "but you won't find his better. He is a tall well built man. one of those men in fact that you don't meet very often, and I am surprised to learn that he broke down in his speech at Newton. Probably he was nervous: in any case platform speaking is not everything and Air Davis' honesty of purpose and- firmness of character count for a great- deal.''
