FARM OX OFFER,. The Jfow Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), acting ■under instructions from Mr Thomas McGill, offered his freehold dairy farm for sale by auction, at Makikihi on 24th inst. Biddings reached £l9 10s per acre, and the-auctioneer then put in the vendor's bid of £2l per acre. Negotiations are how pending which, it is confidently anticipated, will result in a sale being effected. ST. ANDREWS SALE. The usual fortnightly stock sale was held at' St. Andrews yards yesterday, when about 5000 sheep were penned, comprising chiefly lambs and ewes, t Forward iambs were keenly competed for, and sold at prices quite equal to late rates. As the entry of ewes was not actually what farmers~require, bidding on these was slow. Prices resulted as follows: —Fat ewes to Gs lOd, fat wethers to 16s 6d, fat and forward lambs 10s 4d, 10s 6d, 10s 7d, lis, lis 2d, 12s 6d, to 13s. store wethers 10s 3d, cull lambs 4s 6d to 7s lOd, f.m. merino ewes 5s od, f.m. merino wethers 4s 6d, two tooth ewes 14s 6d. WOOL SALE. Guinness and LeCren, Limited, report having held their fourth and final wool sale of the season on Thursday, the 24th. There was only a small catalogue, about 750 bales for the Associated Brokers, of which we offered 77 bales. Considering the small entry there was a good muster of buyers, and bidding was animated. The bulk of the wool offered was merino, most cf which was heavy conditioned, but Hnces in comparison were better than those for the third sale. The top ! price for rnerino was lOjd, and merino l pieces 9Jd. All other classes sold fully up to late rates, crossbred selling particularly well. I CLEAEING SALE. The N.Z. Lean and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, in conjunction with the Canterbury Farmers' Cooperative Association, Limited, held c clearing sale of 24th inst., on account of Mr Thomas McGili of Makikihi, at which there was a goods attendance of buyers who were responsible for good prices ruling throughout. Some of the prices obtained'were: Horses: Draught mare by Commander £34, draught calfc Prince £22 10s, others £l6, £l2 10s £ll, £lO 10s, and £lO. Cows £3 15s to £5 10s, dry cows £2 to £2 10s. PigsSows with Utters £& to £3 ss, sows in pig £3 10s, weaners 7s. D.F. plough £7, spring dray £lO, farm dray £B, gig £7, disc harrows £9, Storrie ri-1-ger £9 ss, Massey Harris binder £6 A numerous list of sundries brought run values. TLMARTJ GRAIN MARKETS. Business has not been very brisk this week. Most fanners are "endeavouring to get 4s per bushel for their wheat out this is not obtainable. One big toe of gooa milling wheat was sold at os yd, and the highest price now offering is 3s lOd delivered Timani, sacks extra. Prices range from 3s 6d to 3s Wd according to .kind and quality. Damaged wheat is commanding 3s to lA* ? at mar ket is quiet, most ot the oats having gone into stack.
