Mr chairman of the South .School Cominitt<« made a few explanatory remarks before the entertainment, opined. This had been given twieo in the South School, and had proved such a success that it was thought its repetition in the Theatre would bo justified, and the large attendance im.ved thafc that was correct Tho programme being a long one, and children the performers, he asked that no encores be asked for. He appealed also to the younger portion of tho audience not to let their tongues run inr-s<\ or they might discoucert some of the performers of tender age. The entertainment was contributed to bv all sections of tho school. The infants did their share, in action soups and a flagdrill, the latter gaining perhaps the wannest round among many rounds of applause during tho evenin-. Standards I and II were billed for a cnnple of songs and a recitation ; Xos. 11l and IV did a pretty wand .Iriil and in costume a fan drill, very well indeed. No. IV l»'l'ils had a and chorus to perform in showy costume and sang it well, and another item of their "Our School Band, made the audience forget the barring of encores. Mrs Valentine lcnfa hand in a ouaint tableau with St. VT girls. Alto-e'ther it was a very enjoyable entertainment.
