Judgment was given by Dr McArthur, S.M., to-day in the case in which tho Federated Cooks and Stewards' Union claimed from the Union Steamship Company a penalty for breach of the federated cooks and 'stewards' award. In the opinion of the Magistrate mess-room members of the providore department were not entitled to any overtime at, bar harbours and roadsteds unless eniployed ''Oil an excursion or any holidays mentioned in the clause of the award. Judgment was given for, the. defendant company. Notice of appeal was fpven. ■
