PRESBYTERIANISM.
A NEW CHARGE
At tbe beginning of the year the Presbytery of Timaru decided to form, within its bounds, a new charge, embracing Albury, Cave, Chamberlain, arid Cannirigton. Some time.ago the now congregation decided to give a hearty and unanimous call to the Rev. Peter Wilson, of, Manai'a, North Island, and on Wednesday last the Presbytery met at. Albury for his induction. There were presentRevs. A. ft. Todd, A. S. Morrison,' T. Stinson, Dr Black, R. Dickey, C.Maedonald and Geo. King; Messrs McClury, Shaw, Wright, Bishop, Austin, elders. The church was well filled for the induction service which wns held ill the afternoon. Divine service .was conducted by the Rev. Geo. King, who preached an appropriate sermon from Ephcsians ITT. 8., after which_Mr Wilson, having answered satisfactorily the prescribed oue'stions, was inducted to the pastoral charge of the congregation. The newlv inducted minister was suitably addressed by Dr Black,' and the congregation by Mr Todd, on their mutual duties and relations. At the close of the service Mr Wilson received the congratulations of the members or his new charge. Jn the evening a welcome social was held in the public hall which was filled by the members'of the widely scattered charo-e ami their friends. A bountiful tea was dispensed by the ladies of the congregation. Speeches, congratulatory, humorous, instructive, were given bv'Revs. A. B. Todd, P. Wilson, Dr 81-u-k T Stinson, C. Macdonald, A. S. Morrison, and R. Dickey. Messrs Murray and Yatcinau, on behalf or tho congregation, welcomed the new minister and snoke hopefully of the prospects of the Albury charge. Musical items were tastefully rendered by several friends and during the evening a <rold bangle was presented to Miss Anderson, the organfst, as a slight i acknowledgement of services faithfully, elncieutly and cheerfully renderedAfter a comprehensive vote, ot tnanks, nioved bv Mr"Bolt, to all who tributed to make the day a day to bo remembered by tho Albury congregation the meeting was closed with the benediction.' The whole were characterised by the utinost heartiness and enthus.asm, winch sußurs well for the suecess of thenow congregation under the man ot its choice. ...-_.
