THEATRE ROYAL TO-NIGHT. j ' The'great prima donna will arrive by the' first express from the south to-day J and, will be accompanied by her man- : ager, Mr John Lemmone and staff. She also brings <a Broad wood concert grandpiano to be used at her concert tonight. The assisting artists, Miss Una Bourne, Mr Frederick Ranalow and Mr Harold "Whittle have won great success on the tour and. Mr John Lemmone, who will play the flute obligato in the Mad Scene from Lucia, to be sung by the diva is an old favourite at Timaru. Ho will also play a flute solo. Since her arrival in. New Zealand 'Madame Melba has carried everything before ■her. " Her voice lias never been .better and .she appears in a "programme which should Ik; appreciated by all. Her songs will lie both popular and electrifying. In tlio Mad Scene from Lucia she will display the most perfect vocalisation ever put before the people of Timaru, and in the valse song '.'Rosebuds" and Tosti's popular song "Goodbye" she will .appeal to those who prefer sentiments to high art. But the diva is sure to give some extra piee?s, so that the treat of a lifetime is in store for those who will be present at the Theatre. Royal to-night. Of the assisting artists the Press speaks in the highest praise.
