Q.A., and who after, leaving Timaru for Oamaru, lost his right foot, is at present stopping here. Mr W. A. Reid, solicitor, of Newcastle, is at present stopping in Timaru as the guest of Mr "William Evans Mr Reid has come to New Zealand for the benefit of his health, and this lias improved wonderfully since his arrival. He first spent some weeks at Rotorim, since which time he has visited Wellington, Dunedin and Gore, and is concluding his tour at Timaru.

Dean Regnault, ' Provincial of the Mnrist Order in New Zealand, paid ;i brief visit to Temiika yesterday. The Dean had been attending the Roman Catholic Synod at'Christchurch, and w-as present at the .laying of the foundation stone of the Nazareth Home on Sunday last. The late editor' of the "Tininru Herald" (Mr W. D. Campbell), has decided to relinquish journalism for law, and has declined an invitation to join the staff of an Australian metropolitan daily, in order to enter the office of Messrs Smithson and Raymond.
