BANDS ASSOCIATION.
ALLEGED MISMANAGEMENT
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 19. The "Wellington Garrison Band has forwarded a letter to affiliated bands alleging that the affairs of tho Association are so badly managed that it is time the true position should he known. They state that numerous amendments hare been made to the rules which have not been properly registered, and that the Association in consequence has already, had to provide medals twice over for the trombone trio contest at New Plymouth.Particular exception is taken to the method of electing a judge for the Hastings competition: the band state that it has a solicitor's .advice that it is illegal, and has rendered the election void. The letter states that all results at this competition can oe upset, and the winners are liable to have their prizes taken from them, as -none of the rules under which it is to be conducted .are legal. The band therefore suggests that the competition should be postponed, and a special meeting of the Association called to consider the position.
