A discussion took place on a suggestion by one of the members that delegates should ba selected by the Chambers of Commerce to discuss railway matters with th« Minister of Railways from a business point of view. The member who made the suggestion -was requested to formulate it and bring it up again at next meeting. Per Press Association. FEILDING, Sept, .12. The annual report of the Feilding Chamber of Commerce is published. It congratulates the town on being made a stopping-place for the main trunk express, which shows that the district claims were recognised. Trade generally did not appreciably suffer during the year; the drop in wool valuer and dry period in summer had no effect locally. The opinion was expressed that the through line to Auckland and the Government acquisition of the Manawatu line must prove important factors in the advancement of the commercial and producing, interests of this coast and the interior. An endeavour is to be made to make the Feilding railway station a trucking depot. The Feilding railway returns show that the sheep and lambs imported increased by 34.695 over the previous year, the total this year being 144.366. Feilding held pride of place regarding the export of pigs, the number being 5080. The report acknowledges the great services to the district of Mr F. Y. Lethbridge. M.P. for Oroua. and regrets his early retirement from politics after twelve years' continuous representation.
