A conference, of the two Houses at Washington, relating to. the poet, office subsidy, accepted the Senate's amendment providing for a subsidy- to carry mails to Japan, China, Australia; South and the Philippines. The vessels of the second- class are paid at the same rate as those of the fii's*- chu?e. NEW YORK, May 23. The House of Representatives lias rejected the mail subsidv.

The Board of Trade's All Red Route CbmMittee will report shortly. Evidence ha.s been submitted that th e journey, trom London to Halifax via Blacisoil Bay is possible in four days. - ~
