GARDEN PARTY.

AT THE PRIORY. In the afternoon competitions were held for best decorated bicycle and best doll's perambulator; the first was won by Miss Quinn and the second by the Misses Jefferson (2). Special attractions •in the evening were a nigger minstrel performance by a number of boys, and an exhibition of club-swinging by Mr Donohue. Refreshment!? were, provided in a large marquee. . The grounds in the evening were' illuminated by nine large gas lamps, giving in the aggregate 3600 candlepower, thus making the scene a very brilliant one, besides being pleasant. The piano was presided at during the evening by Mrs Manges and Miss Egan, the former also running a lolly stall which was wl-11 patronised.
