A conference is proceeding between Terepresentatives of the Anglican aud Presbyterian Churches in Australia, to consider the possibility of ■arriving at a basis of union. The deliberations axe conducted in | private for the present. . MR RAMSAY MACDONALD. Mr Deakin, in the course of an interview in reference to Mr Ramsay MacDonald/s utterances, said:— It may be pleaded on Mr Mac Donald's behalf that he is entitled to 'be treated as a visitor, 'and ,that as n. passing tourist he is compelled to take his' information upon Commonwealth politics from his present associates. We may therefore overlook hia unwarranted references to Australian politics and politicians. THE CONSPIRACY CASES.
