TINWALD. STOCK SALE.

•. . J?£r Press Association. * ' AfrEBUBTON', November 27. Hie attendance at the live stock market at Tinwald yards to-day -was below the average. There tos a fair yarding of cattle. Fat sheep were In moderate supply, but the entry of stores showed & falling off, only 1174 coining forward. Almost throughout, the market bore a lifeless tone. Cfatde—The yarding of store cattle totalled about twenty head, but the entry was very mixed, and a poor sale resulted. Inferior youn<r -teers and heifers brought 365, forward sieer 27s 6d and a heifer £2. Thirteen fat cattle were penned; and nearly all were cleared, but the marketwas somewhat- easier. Fat heifers sold at £5 to £5 7s 6d, steers £5, £5 ss, £5 17s 6d to.£6, and a cow at £6 ss. Sheep—4lo fat sheep were penned and ths market opened in a very doleful fashion, and some half dozen lines had been offered before any business .was transacted; even then bidding, was of the slackest description and prices fluctuated considerably. A splendid line of woolly ewes was passed at 22s 3d; two small lots brought 12s to 16s. Shorn ewes comprised the bulk of the entry and sales ■were effected for best sorts at 15s 3d to 16s 7d, medium 12s to. 14s 3d. Wethers •were not sought after at auction and only •a few shorn were cleared at 18s 3d. A few lambs were forward, but on the whole €he lots submitted were not of finished grade. Business was done on a basis of 15»-Id to 16s. Individual sales were—--22 woolly ewes at 12s lOd, sound mouth ■woolly ewes 16s, 30 shorn 6-tooth ewes 15s 3d, 14 shorn ewes 14s Id. 13 ditto 3<b 3d, 2 ditto 12s. 4 early shorn ditto 16s 7d, 1 £-tooth ditto 15s 2d, 5 shorn wethers 18s 3d, 2 fat lambs 16s and 3 ditto 15s Id. The sale of store sheep -evidenced a fair amount of animation at the commencement, but after the first few lots had been offered the market went to -pieces and line after line was passed. lha want of feed doubtless restricted operations, while the same reason probably ■prompted those who sold. The only lines -which changed hands were 37 shorn2-tooth ■wethers.-at 6s 3d, 200 shorn 2-tooth half"bred ewes at 13s 6d, and 44 shorn ewes and 58 lambs (all counted) at 10s.
