The steamer Storm called shortly after 11 o'clock yesterday morning from Wangaxrai, on her way to dock at Port Chalmers. Her only cargo from her was a Mnall quantity of bunker coal and she left for the south at 3 p.m. The Japanese Consul-General for Australasia has been advised that at the end of last month there left Japan for Sydney direct the training ship Taisei Maru, in «*arge of Captain Yoshikawa, a retired aaval captain. This ship belongs to the Mercantile Marine College, which is under tiis management of the Imperial Government, and at the end of 1904 there were 553 students, and 31 instructors in this college. The Taisei Maru was built, m Japan onlv two vears ago, so that she is probably of the most modern type. There are about 70 cadets on board, and the vessel is constructed both for steaming and jsaflina-. The exact date of her arrival at Sydney and the duration of her stay are ajot known. A BUSY PORT.
