A SERIOUS CHARGE.
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 27. Ann Foster and Harriet Foster were ' charged at the Police Court to-day with the murder of the illegitimate child of Harriet Foster by starvation and neglect. The child died recently at Shand's Track, ' and at the inquest the medical evidence was to the effect that the child weighed only six pounds, when the weight for a child of its age r-hould have been 25 or. 30 pounds. Accused were committed for ; trial. Bail was allowed. The MagisV' -trate' said that having no means he would recommend the Government io provide accused with counsel.
