KELSON. February 4. The contest marching resulted: * Mayttrton. 1481 points. Denniston, 1461 points. Feilding, 144 point*. Kelson Garri*on, 143 9-10 point*. Others in order were:—Tcxnuka. Grey Volunteer, Granity, Grey Catholic. Nelson Citixenp, Hokitika Citizens, Hokitika V«lunteers.
At yesterday's Carnival proceeding-.* at swimming the 222 yards championship ivsultod: BeU (Auckland) 1, Freyburg (Wellington) 2, Dawwon (Dunedin) s:'time, 2min 54 4-ssec.

In the evening there was an illuminated procession of motor launches at the port, and a great band and tire brigades* illuminated procession, concluding witli the masquerade carnival, with dancing in Trafalgar street, and confetti throwing, when masks were removed. The Mayor and the Hon. Mr Mills then gave short addresses, nsd the carnival ended.
