" Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 2. Three bodies from the wreck of the Kapanui were recovered to-day. One was an Assyrian hawker named Fletcher, the other body is supposed' to be that of P. Carter, a deck hand of the Kapanui, and the third is unidentified. In each case decomposition is so advanced as to make identification difficult. CHRISTCHURCH, January 2. A very heavy thunderstorm broke over Christchurch shortly after 2 o'clock this afternoon. Vivid flashes of lightning were followed by heavy peals of thunder, and' a severe shower of hail fell, the stones being larger than peas in size. DTJNEDIN, January 2. A wrestling match took place to-night between J. H. Toukin, of Victorin, and R. J. Scott, for £SO and the championship of New Zealand. In the catch-as-catch-can style, Scott secured two falls and won. He then challenged Weber, the winner at the Caledonian sports during the day.
