The'loss is estimated at considerably abrtve those amounts. A NARROW ESCAPE. CHRISTC'HURCH. November 30. At about 1.50 o'clock this morning an eleven-roomed house in Carjyle street. Sydenham, occupied by Mr G. E. Christenscn, and owned by Mrs W pe. was destroyed by tire. The house was used as a boarding* house, and there were three or four boarders in it at the time. Nothing was saved and several of the occupants had to escape by the windows. The furniture was insured iii the Manchester office for £l5O. and Mr Clmsiensen estimates his loss at £7O over the insurance. The building was insured in the Manchester oifice for £3OO.
