EDUCATION.

THE BOARDS AND THE PREMIER. i Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 29. Speaking at. the laying of the foundation stone of Berhampore school, Mr Sneddon said that in the past there had been differences of opinion between the Education Department and Education Boards. He knew that money had been diverted from primary schools to technical education, and that the former had suffered, but there was a clean slate now., and the Boards and the Government' were wciking in bar-, mony. As ilinister of Education he did not hesitate to tell -.all*' the Boards that all reasonable requests ifor- plans necessary to promote the cause of education would be favourably considered. He would always insist, however, on requests for the Education Department coming to hini in a constitutional way through the Boards. He could not and would not- take recommendations from anybody else.
