Mills, arrived at Picton by the Hinemoa to-day, and were welcomed* by the municipal authorities, and subsequently entertained at luncheon. His Excellency paid a tribute to the scenio .beauty of the sounds.district. He recognised'that Picton was destined to be a city of importance. The Vice-Regal party took train in the aftefnoon and passed through Blenheim to Ngabrooke, where they will be the guests of Mr H. D. Vavasour. They will return to Blenheim to-morrow morning to open the Marlborough exhibition, which contains a large collection of entries from inside and outside the province. The Premier and about 25 members of Parliament will also arrive to-morrow morning from Wellington. It has been raining slightly but the weather is clearing for the exhibition.
