THE SHOOTING OF NATIVES.

• ■ — ■—•>—- THE GORRIBARI INCIDENT. BLAME RESTS ON A DEAD MAN. United Press Association—Per Electric Telegraph—-Copyright. Received midnight, September 13th. MELBOURNE, September 13. ■ The report of Judge Murray, who was appointed the Royal Commissioner to inquire into the shooting of the natives at Gorribari, was tabled in the Federal House to-day. After lengthily reviewing the circumsstances, the report -finds that the general course of action rested with the late Judge Robinson, who under sudden excitement lost : that rigid self-control which is expected from one in command 1 ; but the fault was one of over-zeal and want of judgment rather than .anything approaching a. conscious or wilful departure from the ■absolutely straight path befitting the high office which he held. Judge Robinson's subordinates are practically exonerated, he not having informed them of his intentions. The report explains that the probable causes of his suicide was that he was suffering from malaria and overstrain, and from the reports circulated regarding the affair acting on a highly sensitive nature.
